Hungary's competition authority (GVH) has announced that it raided Microsoft Corp's Hungarian subsidiary, on suspicion that the firm had abused its market power when dealing with software distributors.
“The competition authority on 19 July carried out an inspection on site without previous warning at Microsoft Magyarország Kft," the watchdog said on its website.
“The GVH perceived that (Microsoft) likely applied a system of conditions and benefits - loyalty discounts - for the most significant software distributors that provided no incentive to these distributors to sell other products competing with Microsoft Office software," the authority added.
