Trolltech, the company that makes software faster to build and easier to use, today announced a wide range of Qtopia partner activities in connection with the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona Feb 12-16 2007. This includes technology that for the first time prepares Linux for the mass-volume feature phone market.
The vibrant and continuously expanding Qtopia partner community, as demonstrated by the range of best-of-breed partner technology solutions showcased at 3GSM, provides device manufacturers with a unique competitive advantage. Together with its Qtopia partners, Trolltech offers a proven application platform with best-of-breed support, training and consultancy services.
“The Trolltech partner program has generated phenomenal interest and we are joining forces with an increasing number of world-class technology and service providers,” said David Bialer who heads Trolltech’s Qtopia partner community. “Today the Qtopia partner community counts more than 90 leading players in the industry, whose solutions will fuel the continued success of Qtopia powered Linux devices in the market.”
Numerous partners will be demonstrating their applications on Qtopia Greenphone™ at 3GSM. Greenphone, launched in August 2006, is the first open Linux mobile phone development environment for application developers. It enables commercial and open source developers, in-house software developers and handset manufacturers to create, modify and test Linux- based mobile phone applications on a working GSM/GPRS device, making the applications easier to build and faster to bring to market.
Details about the partners can be found in the Qtopia Partner Catalogue, being launched in connection with 3GSM. The Qtopia Partner Catalogue is available for download from http://www.trolltech.com/partners
Next Monday: Linuxlookup will be posting a review of the Trolltech Greenphone.
