Wine 0.9.48 Released

Wine 0.9.48 has been released. New to this version are additional fixes for regression test failures. a more complete cryptnet implementation, WIDL is now able to generate the oleaut32 proxy code and the usual bug fixes.

Windows Media Player 9 & 10 on Linux with Wine

"I'm aware there are many open source multimedia tools that will play most audio and video formats on Linux these days but many people have come to like Windows Media player over the years. And while Xine and Mplayer will play most .WMV .WMA files, both of these players use Windows codecs that are copied into your /usr/lib/win32 directory. So if your currently happy using the closed source Windows Media codecs why not use the player as well."

Wine 0.9.45 Released

Many improvements to the crypto dlls (should make iTunes work), the usual assortment of Direct3D improvements, a number of fixes to sound support, many more WordPad features and lots of bug fixes.

Wine 0.9.44 Released

This is release 0.9.44 of Wine, a free implementation of Windows on Unix. New in this release: Better heuristics for making windows managed, automatic detection of timezone parameters, improvements to the built-in WordPad, better signatures support in crypt32, still more gdiplus functions and lots of bug fixes.

Wine 0.9.43 Released

What's new in this Wine 0.9.43 release: Direct3D support on top of WGL instead of GLX for better portability. Many DirectSound fixes. Still more gdiplus functions. crypt32 improvements and lots of bug fixes.

Wine 0.9.36 Released
