Ubuntu 7.04 is the most user-friendly Ubuntu to date and includes a ground-breaking Windows migration assistant, excellent wireless networking support and improved multimedia support.
We are now one week from the beta release of 7.04 and have just entered beta freeze.
Updates today have made compiz a dependency of ubuntu-desktop, which means it will be installed by default with Ubuntu feisty fawn. Although this doesn't mean it will be enabled by default it's certainly unfortunate for the beryl project who's primary goal for their next release was to be included in Ubuntu.
Ubuntu Feisty Fawn Herd 4, which will in time become Ubuntu 7.04 was just released.
Please keep in mind that pre-releases of Feisty are *not* encouraged for anyone needing a stable system, or anyone who is not comfortable running into occasional, even frequent breakage. The stable release is scheduled for April 19th 2007.
