The Beryl team has been working on a great new project to allow different wallpapers on different sides of the cube and to allow transparent desktop backgrounds. Look for this in the upcoming 0.2.0 release.

Beryl the OpenGL accelerated desktop just released Beryl 0.2.0 Beta2 over the weekend. This release brings a lot of fixes for the problems many people experienced with Beta1.
