Redmond Ends Linux War

In what could be considered the official end to hostilities between Redmond and the open source community, Microsoft on Tuesday announced the Interop Vendor Alliance, a broad-based confederation of companies that stand to gain from the easing of tensions between the rival camps.

The founding membership is made up of hardware, software, and services firms that occupy positions on one or both sides of the battle lines, including AMD, NEC, Sun Microsystems, BEA Systems, CA, Siemens Enterprise Communications, Software AG, and Citrix Systems.
